A Sheet Mask Makes Beauty Easy – How to Use a Sheet Mask?

Facial Sheet Masks, sometimes known as Korean face masks or Korean sheet masks, are some of the most in-demand beauty products on the market today.

A sheet mask is a fantastic tool to support your skincare routine and make life easier with one single step. If you’ve ever been disappointed with a sheet mask, the issue may not be the actual mask, it may be the way in which you’re applying it. Perhaps, it could even be how you take care of your skin before or after the routine.

Sheet Mask Tips

Applying a sheet mask may seem like a complicated process, but actually its quite a simple one：

1. First, remove one sheet mask packet from the box and put the others away; you won’t need them right now. Open the packaging.
2. Next, remove the sheet mask from the packet and unfold it carefully. There will probably be some leftover serum in the packaging; make sure you don’t throw it away! You can apply excess serum to common problem areas – such as your knees, elbows, arms, etc. These type of products contain compounds intended to leave your skin feeling rejuvenated, wherever it is needed.
3. Once you’ve got your mask open, you should be able to identify cutouts for the eyes, nostrils, and mouth. Using the cutouts as a guide, delicately place the sheet mask over your face, making sure to align the eye holes to the eyes, and the same for the other areas. For bio-cellulose material masks, be sure to peel off the protective liner on both the front and back sides of the mask, before applying it to your face.
4. Apply a little pressure to the mask to ensure it is attached to your skin. This will allow your skin to absorb all of the moist ingredients and prevent evaporation and create an even spread across your face for the ingredients to sink into.
5. Time to relax! Different products state slightly different recommended times of how long to leave the mask on – so be sure to refer to the packaging of your particular product and follow the instructions and time frames – usually it should be no longer than 30 minutes. Avoid leaving the mask on overnight unless the instructions specifically say to do so.
6. After the stated time has passed, peel off your sheet mask carefully. Begin peeling from the edges and slowly work your inwards. You can then throw the sheet away!
7. As an additional step, you can apply moisturiser to your face if you feel it’s necessary.

Should you wash your face after a sheet mask?

DON’T wash your face after using a sheet mask. If you have excess serum left on your skin after using the mask, you can pat it gently into your skin to allow it to absorb. You can always moisturise your skin as an alternative to washing.
